Bucketlist #57. Watch 50 movies (1 / 5) ✔

This year, I want to watch at least 50 movies that I haven’t seen before. Here are the first five movies I’ve seen this year.
Please note: The descriptions I used are from the Internet Movie Database.

Film 1 / 50 ‘Hanna’ 8 January 2012

Adventure / Thriller 2011, IMDB rating: 6.9

Desciption: A 16-year-old who was raised by her father to be the perfect assassin is dispatched on a mission across Europe, tracked by a ruthless intelligence agent and her operatives.

My Opinion: I had no idea what to expect before I watched this movie, but I was pleasantly suprised 🙂  Great acting by Saoirse Ronan. I liked the movie, definitely recomment this one!

Film 2 / 50 ‘How to die in Oregon 11 January 2012

Documentary / Drama 2011, IMDB Rating: 8.2

Description: In 1994 Oregon became the first state to legalize physician-assisted suicide. At the time, only Belgium, Switzerland, and the Netherlands had legalized the practice. ‘How to Die in Oregon’ tell the stories of those most intimately involved with the practice today — terminally ill Oregonians, their families, doctors, and friends — as well as the passage of an assisted suicide law in Washington State.

My Opinion: I liked this documentary a lot, since I’m pro-euthanasia in cases of terminally ill patients who suffer a lot and are just waiting for the release of death. What suprises me about this movie is that the patients can buy the deadly medicine themselves at their local pharmacist, before they have even talked to their doctor about how it works and when the doctor is going to give it. Other than that, great documentary that shows the necessarity of legalisation of physician-assisted suicide.

Film 3 / 50 ‘The change up 19 January 2012

Comedy 2011, IMDB Rating: 6.4

Description: Dave is a married man with two kids and a loving wife , and Mitch is a single man who is at the prime of his sexual life. One fateful night while Mitch and Dave are peeing in a fountain when lightning strikes and they switch bodies.

My Opinion: I never suspect much of these kind of films, but they’re great for ‘just watching and not thinking’. Even when low expectations, this movie was still pretty bad. It’s been done so many times before (two people switch bodies) and this version wasn’t any better than all the other ones.

Film 4 / 50 ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love. 20 January 2012

Comedy 2011, IMDB Rating: 7.5

Description: A middle-aged husband’s life changes dramatically when his wife asks him for a divorce. He seeks to rediscover his manhood with the help of a new-found friend Jacob, learning to pick up girls at bars.

My Opinion: After watching The Change-up the day before, you can imagine my expectations of this movie weren’t very high. Why did I want to watch another romantic comedy then, you might want to ask. Well, I read a lot of great reviews about this movie and decided to give it a shot. And happy I did! I have been laughing out loud for a good bit of the movie. The first part was kind of boring, but don’t give up, the second part is awesome!

Film 5 / 50 ‘Butterfly on a wheel‘  8 Januari 2012

Drama, Thriller 2007, IMDB Rating 6.7

Description: A perfect family’s dynamic is ruined by a kidnapper’s brutally efficient plot.

My Opinion: Good movie! I have been wondering the whole duration of the movie why this man wants to hurt this particular people. At the near end of the movie I kind of had an idea, which turned out to be the right one. The movie was thrilling, made me want to keep watching.

Lots of love,smiles and happiness,

Evalina
